Urban Björn is an economist and for more than 15 years was business manager and SVP in Investment and Corporate Banking. He changed tracks and became HR Manager, and later Head of Diversity & Inclusion at one of the Nordic region’s largest banks where in 2018 he trained over 1,000 managers in inclusive leadership. Since 2019, he runs his own company Business as Equals AB, which helps companies get the full (business) potential through equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Urban Björn’s lectures and workshops contain studies, research and reports that are mixed with practical exercises on diversity, norms, gender equality, and unconscious prejudices and stereotypes. With current examples and best practices, Urban shows how companies and leaders need to act to meet the increased demands from customers, current and future employees, owners, stakeholders, and society at large. He helps broaden the perspective, not only for the management team but for the company as a whole.
Urban Björn has also written Business as equal (Liber, 2020). The book is about the potential of an inclusive culture and leadership. It shows how a focus on business value can act as an engine in the change process and how the company can become more competitive and successful through increased diversity and inclusion.
